To say that 16-year-old Rosalee Ramer of Watsonville, California isn’t your average teenage girl would be an understatement. Sure, she likes to do her nails just as much as any maturing female but it’s something much more out of the norm that really gets her going. In addition to staying on top of her school work, hanging out with friends and doing typical teenage things, Ramer enjoys getting behind the wheel of her very own monster truck. Check out Ramer and her automotive passion in the Good Morning America video above, compliments of Jezebel.com.
At just 16 years old, Ramer is barely old enough to drive on the road, but that hasn’t stopped her from breaking into the male-dominated industry of monster truck driving.
In fact, at just 14 years old, Ramer was already competing in monster truck competitions, where with the help and encouragement of her father Kelvin Ramer, she took to the sport like dust on a black car.
Now two years later, Ramer not only competes in about two dozen competitions a year, she also works on her own ride, aiming to one day be an engineer and go to MIT. And with her math skills in place, that certainly is a possibility for this bright young lady.
Talk about one fearless female exploring her passions no matter what industry stereotypes may stand in her way!
