Why not shoot a .50 caliber M82A1 at a bag of coffee beans through the windshield of a brand-new Ford Raptor? Before anyone calls the mental hospital, Richard at FullMag put together a little video to promote the game, Sniper Arena.

Although no one is exactly certain how the Raptor was brought into a sniper-rifle demonstration for the purpose of promoting a game, it just seems to work, as Richard said, “in theory.” Before the trolls get too excited, this test was performed by a professional in a safe area.

Few things are as American as pickup trucks and guns, so this combination makes some degree of sense. However, the potential for chaos and destruction of a new truck seems a little outrageous even for Internet standards. Richard begins by introducing the game along with the weapons and from there he begins to test each one. After demonstrating the firepower of each of the three rifles selected using watermelons and FBI ballistic gelatin, viewers were able to see what the poor truck would be facing.

Upon the conclusion of the soft target tests, Richard states that based on the evidence he obtained from the demonstrations that the .50 caliber rifle would be the best choice for a hard target also known as a Ford Raptor. We’d say no rifle is a better choice for the Raptor, but this truck was going to face off with a M82A1 rifle. Fortunately, Richard was not going to test whether or not the round would stop the engine, he opted for a precision shot versus utter destruction.

With a small bag of coffee beans perched on top of the rear seat, Richard lines up his shot from the front of the truck and fires the rifle. The projectile penetrates the windshield and pierces the coffee bag.

Once the dust and coffee residue settles, it is possible to see that his shot was accurate and the damage was minimal. Safety glass shards and fine dust are scatter throughout the interior along with a generous amount of pulverized coffee and beans. The rear window was left open and the rear glass sustained no damage, but the plush leather interior showed some damage due to shrapnel. Overall, the damage was limited to leather seats, a seatbelt, plastic trim on the tailgate, and a totally destroyed windshield. Who knows how much fun Richard had explaining the damage to the various repair shops?

We certainly don’t endorse shooting any Ford vehicles, but what shows up on the Internet never ceases to amaze us.
