When taking on an adventure in a foreign country, there are things that are bound to go a bit differently than planned. As they were filming in Panama, the crew of the DRIVE network’s TUNED series quickly found this out. But with ruined plans comes the opportunity for some unconventional fun and that’s exactly what Matt Farah and his crew found with an even more unconventional vehicle. Check it out in the video above.
The vehicle featured in this episode of TUNED is not your typical “tuned” machine. That’s because it’s a 1987 Suzuki Samurai. But that’s what makes this video so fitting for Off Road Xtreme. After all, the tiny 4WD vehicle was an instant hit in the off-road community when it debuted in the States in 1986 thanks to its abilities and reliability on off-road adventures.
But this particular Samurai, owned by Joel Bolanos, is not your typical factory rig. Rather, it’s a highly modified scavenger for anything outside the daily grind.
Modified on virtually every level, the Samurai features everything from a lift to a winch. Bolanos even equipped the car with LED lighting and air conditioning. To say this little off-roader is ready for anything you throw at it would be an understatement.
We certainly get a kick out of the vast array of off-road vehicles the automotive community has embraced and its great to see even the smallest 4WD vehicles getting some use in otherwise unforgiving terrain!
