Travis Pastrana is best known for his accomplishments on motorcycles, after all, he was the first person to do a double backflip on a motorcycle. Pastrana is also a very accomplished race car driver. He’s a four-time Rally America Champion, and he recently set a new record during the Mt Washington Hillclimb. Now he’s gearing up to take on Vegas to Reno in the Polaris RZR “Star Car” with Jolene Van Vugt and Jim Beaver as a guest driver.
What’s very interesting is that Pastrana said his experience with the Polaris RZR at home actually made him a better racer. “Around my house, we’re always driving something, and when the Polaris RZR came out it honestly elevated my game as far as rally and as far as driving,” he said in the video above.
If you didn’t already know, Vegas to Reno is one of the most challenging off-road races on the map. The race is around 550 miles and stretches from Las Vegas to Reno. This race is one of four on the Polaris RZR Star Car schedule for 2017. “Vegas to Reno! It’s a race I’ve always wanted to do. It’s just going to be an awesome experience,” Pastrana said.
Polaris Celebrity RZR at the UTV World Championship
Back in March, Tanner Foust joined the team and set a top 10 pace in the Mint 400. Foust was the first celebrity driver of 2017. For the second race of the year, journalists Alyssa Roenigk and Shaun Ochsner each completed some laps in the UTV World Championships back in April.
The team will end the season this winter at the Pahrump Nugget 250. The great drivers for this final race are unknown at this point.
