At ten years old, I spent a lot of time in the wilderness, but it wasn’t behind the wheel. That coveted adventure was still a few years away. Ruslan Yankilevich on the hand is already a well experienced UTV racer and recently published the above video of his first Glamis Canal jump. I don’t think I have even been so envious of a 10-year-old before.
Ruslan is a diehard off-roader. With multiple top podium finishes in Best In The Desert, DIRT Series, and WORCS, he is taking the off-road racing scene by storm. Ruslan races a Polaris RZR 570 and has done extremely well with it. Then he set his sights on the coveted Glamis Canal. He wanted to be the first to jump it in a side-by-side (SXS). As of the time of this writing, there is no confirmation that another SXS has made the jump and landed it.

Ruslan is an experienced SXS racer. Through his racing career, he has already secured many podium finishes.
The video above was even edited by Ruslan himself. It starts with an early rise from bed that quickly becomes a nap in the truck while his quite-possibly-coolest-ever Dad drives them to the desert. Ruslan is geared up, lines and and is ready to launch. He backs up and let’s loose. The SXS flies through the air and lands safely on the other side. Some celebratory donuts and rooftop happiness are the perfect way to let out his excitement.
Ruslan’s racing career is off to a great start and has a growing list of Sponsors that include some big names like Raceline Wheels, PRP Seats, Trophyburro, Hoonigan and more. With dedication like this from him and his family, he will continue to grow as a top off-road race contender. Follow him on Instagram and YouTube to keep up with the kid that is way cooler than any of us.
