Overland vehicles are mainly seen as full-size that have enough space for all the gear that is needed to live off the grid for any period of time. Project XPD is taking overlanding to a whole new level, with their Polaris RZR.
Brit Mansell has created a UTV that is capable of anything and a trail to go with it. “What we tried to do with the whole build was really push the limits of what UTV’s have been accustomed to. We have our trailer set up from Mig and we take our tent with us,” Mansell explained in the video.
The RZR really caught our eye with its hard top on the back of the RZR for extra covered storage. Most people thing that it is difficult to fit overlanding gear in a full-size vehicle, they have done it in a UTV.
Mansell also talked about the exhaust they went with and why, “On the back we have a Gibson exhaust. We chose this because it is a nice black coating that blends in with the vehicle. The exhaust is also not too loud. With the vehicle being primarily used in parks, outdoors, or the desert there is no real reason for a loud exhaust. The Gibson exhaust fit that just right.”
This surely changes the scoop of what an overland vehicle can be. We for one never thought that we would see an overlanding UTV, but a build like this changes everything. What do you think of the build? Tell us in the comments below.
