Luck–the ineffable quality that we wish we all had, but never seem to possess when we need it most. As Napoleon Bonaparte once said, “I’d rather have lucky generals than good ones.” For all those times when you were out on the trail and tried an obstacle you probably shouldn’t have, this video is for you.
Uploaded by 4×4 tube tube, this compilation video puts together various clips from around the world of 4×4 drivers getting the short end of the stick. It’s not clear where it’s taking place or the language being spoken–Spanish or Portuguese, perhaps–but what’s immediately obvious is a mid-2000s Ram truck attempting to crush cars. I say “attempt” because while it does make it over the cars, it loses all driving ability.
For some reason, the front and rear driveshafts disconnected, and shortly afterwards, the transfer case plopped out of the undercarriage. Too much torque? Not enough hardware strength? It’s hard to tell, but the owner’s definitely down on his luck.
Later in the video, we’re taken to a patch of desert in what appears to be Utah. A fifth-generation Corvette, of all things, can be seen mobbing around the red dirt, kicking the rear end out and generally having a blast. It makes me wonder why I don’t see more Vettes running around the dunes, since this one is obviously made for it!
Corvette owners, you guys need to get on this dude's level!
These and other clips add up to a hilarious and entertaining video that’s worth checking out. Which clip was your favorite? Let us know in the comments below.
