Looks like Matt Mingay is up to his old tricks again. Hailing from Goldcoast, Queensland Australia, he’s famous for his adrenalin addiction via cars and motorcycles. He has over a million fans on Facebook, claims to be king of the largest group of action sports enthusiasts in Australian social media history and performs before two million fans annually.
He’s probably most famous for his wild jump on a full size Hot Wheels track. Think Paul Hogan crossed with Evel Knievel. He even has “Evel” tattooed under his right forearm.
With Mattel as his mega-sponsor, Mingay and his company Stuntz Inc. recently debuted his crazy air time super truck. Check out this video of him launching this rig into the local airspace. There must be about four feet of suspension travel and he’ll need every inch of it when the rig comes back down to earth.
There’s an “Oh sh*t” bar welded in place and his wingman looks to be holding on for dear life at the beginning of the jump.
With a fiberglass body on top of a tubular frame and running LS V8 power, Mingay has just the right rig for his brand of crowd pleasing truck jumps. He’s gotta to be going close to 100 mph or more to get the height and distance we see in the vid.
If we were spectators, the possibilities of launching into the crowd seems very real. Sure there are barriers and nets set up, but we’d watch from the back row, just sayin’.
