Over in Greece, rock crawling is certainly alive and well. As we are sure you know, rock crawling is the ultimate 4×4 sport that really tests the limit of everything your 4×4 can do. Not only do you need the right suspension, tires, and parts capable of building a self-sufficient trail rig, but a skilled driver is also necessary to maneuver such complex rock trails. If not negotiated correctly, massive destruction and damage can occur, but you don’t need to hear that from us.
Watching the video above, you can see that this Jeep rock crawler roars its way up the challenging rock trail surrounded by onlookers. This TJ, known as “The Doctor”, crawls at Tzourmerka, a mountain range located in northwestern Greece. Instead of that factory AMC 4.0L usually stuffed deep inside of the engine bay, this Jeep Wrangler TJ is powered by a mean LS2 V8.
With rock crawling becoming more and more popular, aftermarket parts from suspension components for mad flex skills to overcome challenging rocks and boulders to special bumpers help get your rig ready for the rock trails. If looking to build and drive your own rock crawler, make sure to do your research because it is not as easy as it looks!
