If there’s one thing the off-road community is severely lacking in, it’s documentaries. Sure, there’s greats like Any Given Sunday or the more recent Dust to Glory, but the fact of the matter is that there’s a great deal of variety when it comes to off-pavement excitement, and any exposure to the public at large can only increase our numbers; there’s no such thing as bad publicity, after all.
So it is with no small amount of anticipation that we hear of MAVTV and Lucas Oil announcing the forthcoming reality TV series, “Recourse.” Centering on the lives and careers of some of the most renowned and courageous souls in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series, the show promises to give viewers a behind-the-scenes look of events and trials that racers must overcome on their way to the winner’s circle.
The show plans to emphasize the struggles and successes around the Pro 2 and Pro Lite classes, both of which are some of the most competitive arenas in short course off-road racing. Pro 2 has, since 2009, been the eminent domain of just three men: Carl Renezeder, Rob MacCachren, and Brian Deegan. In recent years, young blood types like Robbie Woods, RJ Anderson, and Bryce Menzies have emerged to challenge the old guard, showing everyone that youth and talent aren’t mutually exclusive.
“If you had ten people that wanted it the same way I do, you’d have a hell of a show,” says Woods in the trailer. “I can’t make them want it more, and they can’t make me want it less.” Anderson offers his two cents on the competition, “Pro 2 is the big boys of off-road racing. It’s tough stepping into Pro 2 as a new team, as a new effort.”
With so much contention and on-track drama waiting to play itself out in 2015, we’ll all be glued to our seats come January 4th, when the first episode will air on MAVTV. Find out more about what’s to come by visiting the LOORRS website and Facebook page.
