Every off roader has been in a situation or two where we just plain where not thinking while out on the trail. The guy driving the JK in this video is no exception.
The video is shot on a trail out at Kansas Rocks Recreation Park. The park is located in Mapleton, Kansas and is open to the public year round, welcoming four-wheel-drive vehicles, mountain bikes, and UTVs.
The guy driving the JK decided to take the worst possible line through the mud hole and then got severely stuck. The JK sits there and does a burnout instantly changing color from silver to mud brown. He digs the JK in even deeper, his efforts to no avail. Fellow trail goers jump into help him out while he stays mud free in the cab.
We do not know what the driver was thinking, but he could of taken plenty of other lines than the fast track to the depths of the hole. This JK doesn’t look like its tires were aired down to play in the mud, let alone try to avoid the ruts created by other vehicles before him.
The driver made it seem like it was his first day on the trail by not taking it easy and opening the throttle, digging the tires into the already soft mud even faster. JKs are usually halfway decent trail rigs, but they’re not designed to go swimming, know what we mean?
Yes, its great hitting the trail with your buddies but I want to know who this guy paid off to not get dirty. One of the hilarious parts of the video is after the JK gets pulled out to solid ground the driver jumps out like he did all the work with not a speck of mud on him.
The moral of this video is watch what line you take into a mud hole, because you never know how deep they truly are. And even if you think you do, take along a measuring stick just to be sure. Like the saying goes, it’s better to be safe than sorry.
