How many times have you and some of your buddies been out four-wheeling when the trail ahead of you presented an obstacle that you just could not pass up. Even if there was a way around it, the rocks, hill, water crossing, or mud hole was just too much of a challenge to go around. Isn’t the point of getting out there and driving your rig off road to challenge it and yourself?
Well, that is exactly what appears to have occurred in the video above. These guys were obviously out doing what four-wheelers do, and that is exploring a trail and looking to have a great day driving off-road. From the conversation overheard by the driver of the Jeep that is the main subject of this video, it seems like they have been on this trail before.
However, just because you’ve been there before, doesn’t mean the terrain is going to be exactly the same today as it was last weekend. This vital axion of off-roading is proven oh-so true in this circumstance, which is why the second most important rule when driving off-road is to know what you’re getting in to (if at all possible) before you plow boldly forward. A long branch from one the many nearby trees, and there were many branches lying on the ground within easy reach, could have been used to test the depth of this mud hole prior to driving through it. That would have been the smart thing to do.
All we have to say is that you should watch this 2007 Jeep JK Unlimited, that according to the videographer is riding on 35-inch tires, and equipped with an 8,500-pound capacity winch, take on the mud hole. It’s worth every second of your time. However, before you watch, make a bet with your buddy. Who wins? Jeep or mud hole?
