It is fantastic to see young kids dominating the world of motorsports, keeping it alive and well. This time we’re not only talking about being young in the sport, but young and female. The phrase “you just got passed by a girl” rings true for everyone competing in this particular race.
“Dirt Princess” Hailie Deegan, 13, is now the first girl in history to bring a victory home racing her mod kart in the last round of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series where she qualified first and started on the pole. The boys are left in the dust — literally — while Hailie does her thing around the track. That’s right, this young girl is showing ’em all how it’s done, and this time she showed why she is lengths above the competition at times.
Some people just have racing in their blood, and Hailie Deegan is one of them. With a dad like Brian Deegan, who competes in Pro 2/Prolite, rally cross, Motocross, and is an X-games champ, you know Hailie has learned from one of the best. She’s certainly killing it on the dirt track with her light blue mod kart, now painted to match her helmet.
This girl will be one to watch next season, that’s for sure.
