How’s this for a scenario? You and your best friend take on the wide world of wheeled sports, from road racing to rock bouncing to BMX biking. Whatever happens in between is filmed and uploaded onto the internet for all the world to see, but for better or worse, you get to live the life of a multi-layered racer for several weeks.
Well guess what–it’s happened. Racer Sandy Bowman and bestfriend/navigator Daniel Hardman teamed up with /DRIVE over the course of 2014 to bring us intense action around the world. Though the series, dubbed Aussie Racer, has yet to make its debut on YouTube, the above trailer has us all revved-up and ready to go once the day finally arrives.
“Sometimes, a person will have an idea that pushes them so hard, they can’t refuse [it],” narrates Bowman. “When that idea becomes a part of their life, the magic begins to happen.” It’s when Bowman starts pulling off the dusty tarps of all the cars he has arrayed in his garage that we start to get a grasp for what’s in store.
The most notable of these vehicles for us off-roaders has to be the team’s Nissan Patrol, an international SUV that has gone through six generations, having been introduced in 1951. The one seen in the video appears to be a fourth-generation model, and looks absolutely killer with its lifted appearance and oversized Mickey Thompson tires.
There’s a lot of things we’re looking forward to for 2015, but Aussie Racer has suddenly risen to the top of our list. How about you? Let us know what you think with a comment below.
