Have you ever wondered what it takes to compete at the highest level of off-road racing? When you are Bryce Menzies, it is a serious effort! As a professional desert racer and Red Bull Athlete, Bryce pours in huge amounts of resources with only one goal in mind. Back in 2015, Off Road Xtreme scored an exclusive interview with Menzies and uncovered a little bit behind the scenes. We have been fans ever since. At this elite level, winning races is the only thing that matters.
For the 2021 SCORE Baja 400, Menzies pulled it all together, and took down a big win after scoring the #1 qualifying position. He would start the race in front and lead the entire field for 400 mile to victory.
Bryce Menzies is seemingly at the top of his game and that is critical in today’s competitive world of the Trophy Truck division. The competition is as close as it has ever been. Even the longest races can be decided with the thinnest of margins between victory and first loser.
The Competition Is Thick!
In the this 400 mile race, the 2nd place finisher of Luke McMillin in the #1 Trophy Truck official time on course was approximately four minutes slower than Menzies the winner. To help put into perspective just how tight and closely matched the competition is, McMillin was 2nd fastest to Menzies by .051 seconds during the Baja 400 Qualifying session which only fractionally sampled what the race course would be like.
Million dollar, four wheel drive, 1,000HP race trucks is just the start of it. Helicopters, a fleet of support vehicles, and dozens of professional experts are tapped in to bring this race program to the forefront. Beyond that, winning races now requires hundreds of hours of homework and practice. By practice we mean PreRunning, which is when the racers will run the plotted course over and over and over again.

Bryce Menzies documented what it takes to win the SCORE Baja 400. A very large part of that started several days before with extensive PreRunning efforts which was covered in a three part series and posted on his popular YouTube channel. Throughout the videos Bryce explains what they are doing and why.
Off Road Xtreme is excited to present these along with his P1 Qualifying onboard POV video and a highly produced Baja 400 race win highlight video. This is very high caliber media material that shares an exciting story. We thank Menzies Motorsports for sharing this with Off Road Xtreme and congratulate Bryce on the big win!
