Much like the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series does for the West Coast, The Off-Road Championship (TORC) events run loud and wow crowds on the other side of the Rockies. Racers compete in similar classes like the Pro-Lite class, of which #43 Travis Dinsmore is making his mark upon here in 2015.

Travis Dinsmore’s #43 Pro-Lite was quite the upset at Round 8 of the TORC series in Crandon this past weekend.
The biggest event in the TORC series takes place in Crandon, Wisconsin. At Crandon Raceway, (a.k.a. the “Big House”), the track is a 1.7-mile patch of dirt housing stands for countless spectators, who get to watch all the hairy action as it unfolds. The race finished up just this last weekend, marking the halfway point for 2015, and saw Dinsmore emerge victorious for Round 8.
Dinsmore wasn’t given an easy path to the podium, however. He battled with #14 Luke Johnson, the runner-up points leader for this season, and wound up besting him as Dinsmore took second place. It was a hard charge to the finish line, but Dinsmore was the man to make it happen.
On the second day of racing on Sunday, Dinsmore didn’t let up. In fact, if anything, he was even more formidable, as he left his fellow competitors in his dust with a huge gap. The mandatory caution let the others catch up, but Dinsmore held on tightly to first place right up until the checkered flag went down. This marked the man’s first victory since he started racing, and he couldn’t have felt prouder.
“Our team has been working so hard, and we’ve come close to winning a couple times, but one time I caught a rut and another time we had a slight mechanical issue, but we never gave up,” said Dinsmore after the win. “Our sponsors, companies like Sleco, Atturo Tire, and Aeromotive along with VP Racing Fuels, Ultra Wheels, Lucas Oil, Allstar Performance, Ron Davis Racing Products, Yukon Gear & Axle, Dynamic Manufacturing, Cool-It Thermo Tec, Mud Muncher, and PIAA as their support is just as important when creating a winning race team. Now I’m really excited to get to Charlotte.”
We tip our hats to Dinsmore and his crew for making a big impression at Crandon. We wish him the best as he continues onto the “Showdown in Charlotte” on July 10-11 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
