The side-by-side market has blown up ever since they first came on the market. Polaris is the largest player in that segment and just recently introduces a new addition to the family at a much more affordable price.
Polaris’ 2018 RZR RS1 brings a single seat version of their popular model at a more affordable price tag of $13,999. It is packed with new features and feature from the popular RZR XP 1000.
Could the RZR RS1 be a game changer? We will have to wait and see.
The RZR RS1 is64 inches wide, a 110-HP ProStar 1000 H.O. four-stroke DOHC Twin Cylinder, the RZR XP 1000’s suspension, upgraded drivetrain, and compact, 83-inch wheelbase. The chassis features a rear-mounted, dual-fan radiator for maximum engine cooling and a new race-hardened drivetrain for durability and instantaneous power. The RZR RS1 also adopts the trailing-arm suspension of the RZR XP 1000, which will help the ride quality.
“The thing that you notice, right away with the RZR RS1, is that it’s much more of a driver’s machine, and it really ties you more in the driving experience,” said Tanner Foust, three-time World Rally Cross Champion. “You have center-cockpit, you have the involvement in seeing the tires, and you have everything great about the fun of driving, taken up a notch. Personally, I think the RZR RS1 is about the gnarliest little wicked beast of a machine, that I have ever driven.”
Keeping the ride nice and smooth out in the dirt is a pair of two-inch Walker Evans Needle with 16-position adjustable clickers up front and 2.5 inch in the rear. The center-cockpit design delivers high-visibility sight-lines to oncoming terrain and is optimally positioned for performance-ergonomics. This connection between driver, vehicle, and terrain results in a visceral, high-energy driving experience.
The RZR RS1 will be popular as it is the only single-seater from the UTV big three. What do you think of the 2018 Polaris RZR RS1? Tell us in the comments below!
