What is better than off-road camping with your overland vehicle friends? We say, not much. But the next best thing is meeting up for the day to talk about your latest adventures, and make plans for the next trip while enjoying some craft beers. OLAF Events organized and hosted their latest get together, “OLAF & HOPS,” at Evans Brewing in Corona, California earlier this month.
To give a brief background on OLAF Events, this is a small group of young industry professionals who all share a love of exploration, camaraderie, and the modification of their vehicles. They have put on numerous events with great success over the last two years. OLAF stands for OverLand Adventure Festival and was originally a play on words that has nothing to do with a certain snowman character in a certain movie.
The dedicated and passionate enthusiasts that make up the OLAF team host off-road events, meetups, community trail runs, and campouts. They also put together worthy causes such as fundraisers, raffles and cleanups. Over time, OLAF Events has teamed up with the King Of The Hammers, Overland Expo, and a slew of name brand industry manufacturers like Hellwig Suspension Products, Leitner Designs, Gibson Exhaust, Savvy Off-Road, Kenda Tire, Icon Vehicle Dynamics, Pelican Products, and so many more.

For OLAF & HOPS at Evans Brewing, almost 20 vendors, hundreds of off-road & overland vehicle setups, and nearly a thousand attendees showed up to the Southern California gathering for good times, tasty authentic tacos, and cold beers. Evan Rapport, President and Founder of Evans Brewing Company, reported that this was their biggest single day in food and beer sales. This is a great testament to their efforts of bringing the off-road community together.

Additionally, OLAF and their partners put together an awesome raffle consisting of off-road and overland vehicle gear & prizes. The Leela Project was the designated charity of the day and raised $1,250 through ticket raffles & donations. For 2021, The Leela Project is supporting the building of a home for a needy family in Mexico.

OLAF Events has scheduled April 16-18 as their next meet up in Johnson Valley, CA. The main function is an organized desert cleanup, supported by the Bureau of Land Management. Besides being good stewards of the land and working to keep our desert playground in tip-top shape, OLAF has an epic raffle, vendor trade show, Backwoods BBQ cookout, Injen Technology sponsored bonfire, campout, and off-road ride-a-longs with Krawl Stars and Can-Am Commander SxS all planned out. If it was anything like the last events, we at Off Road Xtreme hope to attend and meet up again with our new OLAF friends.
