News from the North American International Auto Show in Detroit has dominated the news cycle for the past week, but it isn’t the only major auto show happening in January. The Montreal International Auto Show was scheduled for the same time, and while it may lack the high-profile debuts of vehicles like the 2017 Lincoln Continental and Chevy Bolt EV, it still has a unique flair that has produced at least one extremely unique concept.

Meet the Nissan Rogue Warrior Concept, which has traded in its tires for snow tracks that would only make sense in a perpetually snowy country like Canada.

The tracks turn the Rogue Warrior from streetcar to snowpro, a full-size ski vessel for the whole family. Each track measures 48 inches long, 15 inches wide, and 30 inches tall, giving the Canadian concept an impressive 23-inches of ground clearance. Along with the help of a new suspension system, the Rogue Warrior Concept can climb hills as steep as 45 degrees, at speeds of up to 100 km/h, or about 62 MPH.

“When the all-wheel drive system on the Rogue and Nissan’s advanced Xtronic transmission are matched with snow tracks, it results in something spectacular – a Rogue capable of overcoming severe, off-road winter conditions,” says Director of Marketing at Nissan Canada Steve Rhind. As cool as the Rogue Warrior Concept is though, we don’t expect to see it on Canadian dealerships anytime soon.
