In a bold move merging the excitement of desert racing with everyday driving, Nissan unveils the Frontier Forsberg Edition, a limited-edition package inspired by Forsberg Racing‘s triumph at the NORRA 500 race. Chris Forsberg and Yokohama Tire teammate Letícia Bufoni shared driving duties in a lightly equipped Nissan Frontier designed specifically for off-road desert racing in Baja California, Mexico.
The duo of racers won the Stock Production Class in the NORRA Rally event which excited the Nissan team so much that they decided to collaborate further with Chris Forsberg to create the Nissan Frontier Forsberg Edition package. Now, new Nissan Frontier owners can equip their trucks and optimize performance based on a desert racing dream.
That dream started many months ago and you can watch the Forsberg Racing Team transform a bone-stock Nissan Frontier into a capable desert race truck. The key ingredients were a suite of NISMO Performance parts and safety equipment.

Forsberg Racing Brings Nissan Back To Desert Racing
Building the truck was just the beginning of the journey for Forsberg. As off-road enthusiasts, the next part of the adventure is what we all strive and dream for. Luckily for us, they documented the race efforts and all of the experience of desert racing in Mexico during the 2023 NORRA 500 in a 2-part series.
Nissan Frontier Forsberg Edition Features Race-Inspired Equipment
For enthusiasts seeking a taste of off-road glory and performance, the Frontier Forsberg Edition is based on equipment and accessories that were used on the actual NORRA-winning race truck. This package brings race-inspired flair to Nissan Frontier Crew Cab models. The dealer-installed accessory package boasts NISMO Off Road parts, including 17-inch Axis Beadlock wheels, rock sliders, and a roof rack with integrated LED lighting. Emblazoned with Forsberg Racing decals and a Limited Edition badge, it’s a tribute to desert-racing prowess.
Enhanced Performance
Complementing its rugged appearance, the Frontier Forsberg Edition delivers enhanced capability. With a NISMO Off Road lift kit, forged upper control arms, high-performance shocks, Yokohama Geolandar X-AT tires (size 265/70/R17), and a NISMO cat-back exhaust, this truck is primed for adventure.
Accessible Customization
Priced at $9,999 MSRP, the Forsberg Edition package is a customizable option available for new or existing Frontier owners (model year 2022 and above). Scheduled for release in fall 2024, it promises to elevate the driving experience with its unique blend of style and performance.
Proven Performance
The collaboration between Nissan, Forsberg Racing, and Chris Forsberg yielded remarkable results at the 2023 NORRA 500. Competing in the Stock Production Class, Forsberg and teammate Leticia Bufoni clinched first place, showcasing the durability and performance of the Frontier outfitted with NISMO Off Road parts and Yokohama Geolandar tires.
During the 2023 SEMA Show, Nissan USA held a press conference presenting some of the organization’s recent accomplishments and highlighted several vehicles. Off Road Xtreme was lucky enough to be on hand to witness the entire presentation followed by several vehicle unveilings. Leticia Bufoni and the Forsberg Racing built Nissan Frontier was a big part of that.
Leticia Bufoni a professional skateboarder, Olympic athlete, 3x X-Games Gold Medalist, Red Bull ambassador, featured in ESPN The Magazine’s 2015 Body Issue, and Nike pro, has done it all. From performing ollies in the Natural History Museum in London, to “Sky Grinding” and shredding rails out of C-130 Military Airplane at altitude are just a few of the many stunts she has nailed.
Now she is into racing and getting behind the wheel of anything that is rad. That includes Nitro RX and off-road desert racing. Chris Forsberg and Leticia Bufoni got the chance to off-road race a brand new Nissan Frontier at the 2023 NORRA Rally in Baja California, Mexico. driving. Testament To Durability
Reflecting on their victory, Chris Forsberg emphasized the truck’s resilience: “Our win at the NORRA 500 was a testament to the capabilities of the Nissan Frontier with NISMO Off Road parts and Yokohama Geolandar tires,” said Forsberg. “We took a stock truck outfitted with NISMO Off Road parts and drove it from the shop in Southern California to the event, raced across the Baja desert for 500 miles, and drove it back home to the shop without an issue. It’s thrilling to know that more drivers will be able to experience a taste of the rugged performance that propelled our success in the NORRA 500.”
