There is a new RZR in town and it is not taking any prisoners. Polaris just announced an all-new side-by-side that is set to change the game once again. The Polaris RZR XP Turbo S is one mean machine off the showroom floor and it appears that Polaris is flexing their muscles in the market once again.
Just like the Big 3 battle in the car market, the UTV market has been growing and expanding yearly. With the latest addition, Polaris looks to once again show who is boss and step back atop the podium with a 168 horsepower beast.
Meet the all-new Polaris RZR XP Turbo S, a vehicle that looks to push the bar even further.
“We set out to create the most capable and aggressive side-by-side in the industry, and without a doubt, we accomplished that with RZR XP Turbo S,” said Chris Musso, president of Off-Road Vehicles, Polaris. “This machine raises the bar for the industry. The sheer size of the machine and its significant performance upgrades will have even the most passive drivers attacking terrain with confidence.”
The RZR is cut with a new predatory look: low profile ROPS, aluminum roof and premium panels featuring LED lighting packages that comes standard to let your competitors know how far they are falling behind. Is the side-by-side that resets the bar? We feel so.
Built To Handle The Extreme
This RZR is not only packed with features that look good on paper but items that will handle business in the dirt. From a reinforced chassis to bigger, stronger axels, Polaris incorporated performance upgrades and strengthened nearly every component of the machine. The all-new isolated front drive features three times higher impact strength, while the ROPS, control and trailing arms, and radius rods help handle the extreme force produced by this beast of a machine.
The RZR XP Turbo S is the first-ever side-by-side vehicle to come stock with 32-inch tires. In addition, the vehicle has an industry-best 16 inches of ground clearance. The combination of a flickable wheelbase and massive tires produces a machine that is extremely agile, yet capable of smashing through the toughest terrain with the ease of a Trophy Truck.
The RZR XP Turbo S is built to handle anything that is thrown at it.
One part that we liked right off the bat was the 72-inch stance which opens up possibilities for more usable travel upgrades. The Dynamix Active Suspension system uses every inch of the vehicle’s 19-inch or 21-inch traditional wheel travel for both low-speed comfort and high-speed performance. That’s not it, the way that Polaris set up the suspension allows for 25-inches of useable travel before bottoming out on the skid plate.
The user experience was also taken into consideration. With an additional 25 percent more assist in power steering, recalibrated throttle mapping, and the redesigned clutch box allow the driver to enjoy driving the vehicle even more than before.
The driver experience was really thought about in the design of the Polaris RZR XP Turbo S.
The RZR XP Turbo S also features a redesigned cockpit and an improved driving position, enabling drivers to comfortably command it through any obstacle desired. The cockpit boasts a four-point harness, premium flat-bottom Sparco steering wheel, and a new instrument cluster with a seven-inch Ride Command glove-touch display on the center dash.
Time will tell how this all-new RZR will do in the field but by the look of it, we feel the off-road market is going to welcome the RZR XP Turbo S with open arms.
