
Dodge Ram trucks with several different trim levels and options packages are affected by this recall campaign.
More details concerning the $105 million penalty levied against Fiat Chrysler by the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (MHTSA) regarding a number of the company’s vehicles have recently been released. This is the single largest penalty levied by the agency and the ruling includes Fiat-Chrysler (FCA LLC) agreeing to a number of other terms, including the company agreeing to federal oversight, a buyback program, and more.
Senior Vice President–Vehicle Safety and Regulatory Compliance Scott Kunselman states “Remedies are available, we are servicing vehicles and we encourage affected customers to contact their dealers. It is imperative that all vehicles implicated by recalls are inspected and serviced, as required.”
The company states that required mailings to customers that are eligible for the incentives affected by NHTSA recall campaign numbers:
- 13V-038
- 13V-252
- 13V-527
- 13V-529
Eligible vehicles include 1993–1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee and 2002–2007 Jeep Liberty SUVs, and late-model Dodge Ram and Dakota pickups that as of July 24th 2015 remain unremedied. How the Incentives Work Out
Vehicles meeting the following conditions are eligible for the $100 Visa prepaid card (list not complete):
- 93-04 Grand Cherokee
- 09-12 Ram 1500 trucks built from Feb 27th, 2007–June 30, 2009 and Dec. 1st, 2009–Oct, 20, 2011.
- 09-11 Dakota pickups built between Feb 27, 2007–June 30, 2009 and Dec 1, 2009–Sept. 30, 2011.
- 08-12 Ram 2500 and 3500 4X4 trucks
- 08-12 Ram 3500 RWD chassis-cab trucks
- 08 Ram 1500 Mega Cab 4X4 trucks
All vehicles listed in the recall are also eligible for the trade-in bonus. Ram truck owners are eligible for $2,000 over market and everyone else is eligible for $1,000 over market. These bonuses must be used either towards the purchase of a new FCA vehicle or put towards parts or service. These bonuses are in addition to any existing new car bonuses FCA has in place.
