Tired of the sound or lack of contrast in your Jeep Gladiator? Goonzquad installed a DEI Boom Mat Headliner to cure both ails in less than a day.
The hardtop of any Jeep is a useful part that increases security and provides a much better way to cover the interior. Unfortunately, its lack of sound deadening makes road and wind noise a constant companion. Goonzquad on YouTube tackled that issue with a Design Engineering Inc. Boom Mat Headliner kit for their rebuild project of a wrecked 2020 Jeep Gladiator.
Once the top was off and separated into its sections, it was a 15-minute process that was started by wiping down and cleaning the interior side of the hardtop parts.
The Boom Mat comes in pre-cut sheets made to perfectly fit in the pockets molded into the top. This makes placement precise and easy for anyone to install.
The rear section includes a set of foam risers as the headliner kit covers most of it.
However, the Boom Mat kit is cut in to easy to handle sections and can be done by one person.
While Goonzquad choose the black headliner for some contrast to the all-white interior portion of the hardtop, it does come in other finishes like a matching white, gray, leather look black, and leather look gray.
That wasn’t the only DEI Boom Mat product they were given, but they will use those on other projects. Check out the rest of their channel here and get other great DEI products here.
