Truck Driver 3D: Offroad–now there’s a game title that says explains the whole premise. This game was developed by Rooster Games, and boasts some cool features: surprisingly realistic physics, detailed graphics, and environments, as well as an objectively cooperative yet friendly user interface. One thing about it though–it’s hard as hell.

The challenges themselves are, well, challenging. The objective is to get from point A to point B with a point system based on performance and timing. However, these tracks don’t come easy; failure is more than often inevitable if you so much as try and reverse your way out of a potential fall, making you start the track over again. It’s certainly not a walk in the park, but we like our games to mean something when we win, so we give it points in this category.

Rooster Games did quite well on the graphics. The environment is responsive, with animals and weather effects that can affect your progress. The physics, although not perfect, make it feel immersive; there’s even a first person driving mode available.

However, there are some minor bugs, and the quality can bring you some lag if your phone isn’t brand new. It’s basically the quality of a late PlayStation 1 game, perhaps with less data.

The different tracks and trucks to use are enough to keep it from being repetitive, and the different climates and times of day do give it more realism. On the whole, we very much enjoyed this virtual sim.

It occupies only 50 MB so it won’t eat too much space. We recommend Truck Driver 3D Offroad for those who enjoy a challenge and off-roading trucks, and give it an 8.5 out of 10.
