Three local Off-road vehicle clubs in Clarksville, Tennessee decided to hold a fundraiser event on Saturday for 9 year-old Jenna King who has childhood leukemia.
Clarksville Off-Road Club held the fundraiser at its fourth annual Show and Shine event Saturday at Joey’s New & Used Tires on Dover Road, pairing up with two other local clubs: Pritchett Off-Road and the Assassin Diesel Club.
“All three of us decided to get together and do a charity event for the family of Jenna,” said Justin Frazier of the Clarksville Off-Road Club. “We wanted to help relieve some [of the] financial burden that the King family has.”
The event consisted of a car crush, where a Jeep rolled over a few cars, and the Ramp Travel Index test, which was designed to measure one’s ability to flex over obstacles like rocks and trees. They also held a raffle where they gave away a Mathews hunting bow and LED headlights to lucky winners, as well as a Best of Show vehicle contest that Jenna voted on for her favorite. The winner of the Best of Show was Travis Munsell with his 2005 Dodge Ram 1500.
The event managed to raise $2,500 for little Jenna, which is a great turnout for what it was. “We appreciate anything that everybody has done, but this was definitively a different fundraiser and I think it was pretty cool,” said Trina King. “She is doing pretty good, we still have two years of chemo to go, but her tests came back and she is in remission right now. That was a blessing, it really was. We were so thankful.”
