East Coast Jeeps Amazon Store Suffers Pricing Problems

The owners of East Coast Jeeps won’t be forgetting the night of July 31, 2015 for quite some time. While they were sleeping, a hiccup occurred with their Amazon store. This hiccup caused the sale price for a $300 bumper to show under $20. This pricing discrepancy translated into a $300,000 mistake. Being a small two person operation, that’s a hit they can’t afford in more ways than one.

Reputation is a key to success in business, whether you’re running a traditional brick and mortar business or you operate a virtual storefront in a marketplace such as Amazon. If they had to cover these sales it could mean the financial end of the company. Not covering the sales could end up killing their reputation. This was some sort of coding error that they had no control over but it still appears that there are unhappy people that will blame them, which can negatively impact their Amazon seller’s reputation which is unfortunate.

Tracy at ECJ is asking for anyone that bought the affected part to cancel their order. The option to cancel the item is found at the bottom of the “View Order Details” page for the order. The details page can be accessed by selecting the correct order from the “Your Orders” page on the “Your Account” page in the Amazon mobile app. On the web, select “Cancellation Request” on the “Orders” page accessed from the “Account” page.

To make up for the hassle and disappointment, East Coast Jeeps is offering a “special deal” to everyone that cancels their order of this improperly-priced bumper. To claim this deal, simply send them an email with “ECJ IS SILLY” as the subject. The body of the email should include your original Amazon Order Number, as well as any part numbers in the new order.
