We’re making our way through the halls of the SEMA Show, looking at the latest-and-greatest products. Among them is Westin Automotive and its Pro Mod and Sportsman Grille Guard bumpers.
Westin’s Cameron Quiroz, gave us a deeper insight into the bumpers, and started with the Pro Mod HDX series, which was installed on a 2019 Ram 1500. “This is one of the new bumpers we’re coming out with this year,” he said. “They’ll be available for all of the popular makes, including Ram, Chevy, Ford and Toyota.”
The Pro Mod bumper can fit five lights inside of it, including up to a 20-inch light bar in the middle, as well as four round or square pod-lights (two on either side). Above it, an HDX grille can be installed with minor trimming, and fit an additional three lights.
One thing that intrigued us about this bumper series is its modular nature. “Everything bolts together, so it all fits nicely into a small box,” said Quiroz. “Having these bumpers made that way makes them easy to ship, instead of having to get them freighted and shipped on a pallet.”
The bumper has five mounting locations for lights: a center light bar and four pod lights, with two on either side. “We also made sure it works with factory parking sensors,” added Quiroz. “We can also plug them if your vehicle lacks parking sensors.”

This 2019 Silverado is supplied with a Sportsman Grille Guard bumper, which comes with an integrated light bar.
Nearby, a two-tone 2019 Silverado bore the Sportsman Grille Guard bumper. “We’ve offered the Sportsman Grille Guard bumper for some time now, but new for this year is a refreshed, redesigned model,” said Quiroz.
Similar to the Pro Mod series, the Sportsman works with factory parking sensors, and has the added benefit of a built-in light bar. “The light bar has a daytime running light feature, so it runs at a dimmer output and won’t blind other drivers,” commented Quiroz. “When you want full power, all you do is flip a switch and you’ve got it.”
These and other Westin products made for an impressive display at SEMA, and are sure to get truck owners excited. To find out more, be sure to head over to the Westin website and Facebook page.
