Jeep Wrangler JKs are still one of the most well-loved and ubiquitous 4×4 vehicles out there in America. Owners who really like to get the most use out of their rigs should look closely at what Bestop brought to SEMA this year – the Trektop NX Glide, Highrock 4×4 modular bumpers, and Roughrider tailgate shelf.
Starting with the Trektop NX Glide, Bestop’s Rick Vermeil explained that this was an improvement over the Trektop NX. “It creates a zipperless system in the back, eliminating all of the zippers that connect the windows to the soft top,” he said. “It also has a folding function built-in, acting like a bikini top with windows attached to it, but it can fold all of the way down. This was a big feature that a lot of people missed when they wanted the fastback look of the Trektop NX.”
The Trektop NX Glide brought together zipperless windows and a fully foldable soft top in one package.
Just like several other Bestop soft tops, the Trektop NX Glide uses black twill like that found on convertibles. It’s a durable material, matching the rugged personality Jeep is so famous for.
Next, we examined the new Highrock 4×4 bumpers. These bumpers are meant to be customized to suit the individual’s taste and need for trail protection, as Vermeil explained.
The Highrock 4x4 bumpers are customizable with tire carriers, skidplates, rollers, end caps, and more.
“We offer the Highrock bumpers with optional end-caps that can either have the tire carrier or not,” he said. “These end-caps can be installed or removed at will, so we have given Jeep owners a whole new level of customizability.” The front follows the same mantra, allowing for end caps, a grille guard, a skidplate, or a roller.
Lastly, there was the Roughrider tailgate shelf. Essentially, this add-on creates a deployable shelf on the tailgate’s inside, which would come in handy whenever a user had need to rest something within reach for a short time – whether it be groceries, tools, or today’s catch.
The Roughrider tailgate shelf was spring-loaded and deployed with a touch of a button.
“You can remove the netting and then you have a shelf,” said Vermeil. “Put a U-joint on it, or whatever you need to get back to quickly without having to set it on the ground.”
With these three products, Bestop has you taken care of with some new and exciting ways to get more utility out of your Jeep, and all three of these new products will roll out by early 2017. See what else is new on Bestop’s website, and keep it locked for more SEMA coverage coming soon!
