One of the most popular platforms in the off-road market remains the Jeep Wrangler. The JK chassis is no exception and SEMA is always packed full of a wide variety of these rigs. This 2015 Rubicon four-door is no exception. Project Trail Force was modified by Kevin Tetz and the guys over at Extreme Terrain (ET).
If you’re reading this, you likely already know the factory specs on a Rubicon, so we’ll spare you the boring stuff and get right to the meat of things. This Jeep has been reworked by ET with an assortment of bolt-on parts that would be at the top of the list of modifications for many enthusiasts.
A Rock Krawler lift kit raises the suspension 5.5-inches, allowing for better travel over a wider variety of terrain, not to mention more clearance for the massive Mammoth wheels and BF Goodrich 37-inch tires. Protection and function come from a set of Barricade Bumpers and a full compliment of body armor components.
Lighting the trail after dark is a Raxiom light bar. If you don’t use a winch at some point during your off-road adventures, then you’re probably not pushing your rig hard enough. When those occasions arise, the Barricade winch mounted to the front bumper will provide a source of rescue for you, or your buddies, out on the trail.
ET chose a different route than what we typically see to compensate for the additional weight and rolling resistance of all this hardware and tire set. Of course they swapped out the gears in the front and rear differentials to a 5.12 ratio, and while the Jeep was still fun to drive, it was missing something.
To liven up the step of this Jeep whether it’s on the trail or the street, ET installed a Ripp supercharger package. This stage 2 kit adds 150 horsepower at the flywheel, and in low range provides instant response with plenty of boost to power through whatever’s holding you back on the trail. The idea here is not so much hot rod as it is to balance out the additional weight and tire, and according to Tetz, it’s a package that works well.
Extreme Terrain held a contest at the SEMA Show to give away this Jeep to one lucky winner. Someone was headed home with a Jeep valued at more than $73,000, and with a vehicle that can serve as daily driver, or trail warrior in a wide variety of environments.
