Painless Performance has done it again. Famous for their streamlined and meticulous attention to wiring detail, Painless unveiled a digital power manager that is geared towards those who have vehicle components that require a bit more juice than your average driver.
Painless Performance’s 500 amp Digital Power Manager with jump start capability is one of the company’s newest additions to their line of electrical, fuel injection management systems, electrical components, and diesel performance products geared towards classic cars, truck, off-road, and racing applications.
“The Digital Power Manager uses a weather proof solid-state control unit and high amperage 100% duty cycle solenoid to automatically engage a reserve battery when a large load is placed on the main battery.”
This unit is designed to preserve the charge in a driver’s reserve battery for the purpose of vehicle starting when the main battery has reached a low voltage. It also controls the charging of the main and reserve battery by the alternator.
This solid-state dual battery controller eliminates the need of manually combining a secondary battery in any vehicle. This is ideal for vehicles equipped with high power stereo systems, high amp driving lights, or winches.
The kit comes in two packages – the DPM Basic Kit and the DPM Basic Plus kit. The Basic Plus kit includes:
- Digital Power Manager
- High Amperage Solenoid
- 500 Amp Mega Fuse
- Terminals
- Heat Shrink
- Mounting Hardware
- Override Switch
- Two 16-inch Battery Cables
- Ground Straps
- Remote Indicator Light
The Basic Kit includes everything in the Plus package minus the battery cables and ground straps. Painless also mentioned that in the near future they will be releasing DPM applications for 2007 and up GM Gas Trucks, ’75-’86 CJ and ’87-’95 YJ Jeep models.
