2022 Lexus LX 600 made its world debut to much fanfare in December 2021. More recently, the SUV also made an appearance at the Los Angeles Auto Show, followed by a rugged version of the Lexus LX 600 which broke cover at the recently culminated Tokyo Auto Salon 2022. The concept vehicle is called Lexus LX 600 ‘OFFROAD’ JAOS.
The fourth-generation LX is based on the J300 series Land Cruiser and shares the same vehicle base platform and all of the off-road technical capabilities. Off Road Xtreme pays attention to these special build collaborations because the upgrades and features might someday trickle down to factory offerings.
Lexus LX 600 ‘OFFROAD’ JAOS Equipment Upgrades
The luxury automaker’s parent company, and makers of the Land Cruiser, joined forces with off-road specialist JAOS for this creation. Tokyo Auto Salon happens to be one of the largest custom-car shows in the world. Safe to say, JAOS brought its A-game to the event. The all-new LX 600 started life already equipped with the OFFROAD package. JAOS installed a wide range of off-road-capable upgrades and accessories, including a set of ENKEI made alloy wheels.
Even though the JAOS TRIBE CROSS rims of Lexus LX 600 “OFFROAD” JAOS ver concept flaunt a Titanium Gold finish, the wheels are also available in a Matte Gun Metallic treatment. The alloys are wrapped in Toyo’s 285/55R20 Open Country A/T III tires. The off-road specialist installed JAOS 2 0mm Type-R wide fenders to accommodate the oversized wheel and tire combination.
The off-roader also gets CFRP skid protectors on both ends, and these resin parts are designed to offer undercarriage protection on challenging terrains. At the rear, we also find a hitch integrated into the protector. The powerplant of the Lexus LX 600 OFFROAD remains unmodified. The twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 motor churns out 409 HP of maximum power and 479 lb-ft of peak torque.
