Off-Road Xtreme is always hungry for adventure and we believe there is no better way to find it than loading up your ride and going outdoors for a multi-day Off-Road Overland Adventure. Anywhere west of the Mississippi, there are plenty of wide-open spaces and trails, much of it primely zoned for this sort of activity. In places like California, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, and Arizona it gets even better. Earlier this Fall, Jerry Zaiden from Camburg Engineering recruited a good group of friends and charted a course to cover some ground on a multi-day Off-Road Overland Adventure.

They recorded and produced a three-part episode presenting the highlights and Off Road Xtreme is here to break it down for you.

Camburg’s Off-Road Overland Adventure By The Numbers

Zaiden scheduled five days and four nights of camping with vehicles slightly modified for off-roading. They chose Pink Coral Sand Dunes at Elephant Cove Road for the campsite on night 1. The North Rim of the Grand Canyon at Locust Point was selected for the site of night 2. For night 3 of the off-road overland adventure, they landed on Peach Springs near Flagstaff, Arizona. And Aiken Mine in the Mojave Desert outside of Baker, California was the site for night 4 to culminate their off-road overland adventure. There were five Ford Raptors, one Ford Bronco, one Lexus GX460, and one Ram 2500.

What Is This Overlanding?

What many of us simply refer to as camping, the “Overlanding” term has been adopted state-side and can be described as vehicle based off-road camping. Overland is big business to be had with many new consumers jumping on the trend to spend loads of money. It is family friendly fun, and a terrific way to go explore the magnificent wilderness and great outdoors.

Off-road industry leading companies like Camburg Engineering were quick to notice early on. Their suspension products were perfectly suited and exactly what an overlander would use to beef up a vehicles off-road capabilities. With a little effort they pivoted and branched out with some project vehicle builds that would get the attention of the overland community.

One of those vehicles is a new 2021 Ford Bronco. Jerry Zaiden can be seen sharing the vehicle build specifications in the videos above. The new Bronco is fully decked out with a bunch of products from other manufacturers and Camburg Engineering is using it develop their own product line as well. With over a 1,000 off-road miles already tallied up, Jerry is very confident in the improvements and upgrades.
