The 2024 Los Angeles Auto Show featured scores of overland-ready 4x4s as well as off-road-centric exhibits. Yes, you read that right. For example, there was the 30,000-square-foot Camp Jeep exhibit, Ford’s “Bronco Mountain,” and the OVRland Outpost. Among the 4x4s on display in the OVRland Outpost was an eye-catching 2024 Jeep Gladiator JT and an envy-inducing 1986 Chevy K5 Blazer. Both vehicles were outfitted by RealTruck, a manufacturer of accessories for truck, Jeep, Bronco and off-road enthusiasts worldwide.
RealTruck teamed up with professional skier Glen Plake to design the Jeep Gladiator JT (shown here at the 2024 SEMA Show), and the end result is a vehicle ready for backcountry exploration. The Gladiator is equipped with a full suite of RealTruck accessories, including a Rugged Ridge WingMate Rear Bumper. This heavy-duty bumper features a clever dual-pivot design that allows for maximum versatility when carrying gear. Attached to the bumper are RealTruck Rugged Ridge WingMate Swingouts. These Swingouts have integrated MOLLE panels and can support the weight of up to a 37-inch-diameter spare tire.
However, the customizations do not end there. This Gladiator comes equipped with RealTruck’s GoRack, which is a mid-height roof rack that’s perfect for hauling things like bikes, kayaks, or camping equipment. Then there are those who may want to take their travels to even greater heights with RealTruck’s GoTent. Its features include a waterproof tent body, synthetic fiber floorboard, and 2-inch-thick foam mattress.
The K5 Blazer, also pictured at the 2024 SEMA Show, includes a RealTruck Rugged Ridge WingMate Rear Bumper, which is designed for off-road travel. It is paired with the RealTruck Rugged Ridge XOR Stubby Front Bumper that has a built-in skidplate, shackle mounts, and winch plate.
A powerful 13,000-pound-capacity RealTruck Traction Recovery winch, a RealTruck Go Rhino El Gato Hydraulic Jack, and a convenient RealTruck Go Rhino 4-CORE El Gato Jack Mount Kit ensure that the Blazer can handle any unexpected challenges on the trail. The K5 also features the versatile GoTent and a RealTruck Overland Awning, which provides shelter from the elements.
The RealTruck-equipped Gladiator and K5 Blazer gave Los Angeles Auto Show attendees an eyeful, and the opportunity to see how the company’s products can make a 4×4 overland-ready, whether its a new machine or a vintage rig.
