The Ford Bronco is fast becoming one of the most lauded nameplates in the Blue Oval brand’s lineup. Ford enthusiasts are praising the new SUV for its versatility and off-road capability. At the same time, buyers can’t help but wonder, if the Bronco Sport is just as capable as its sibling off-roader.
The all-new Ford Bronco Sport is based on Ford’s Edge SUV, which is why many consider it to be a soft-roader. In one of the most recent episodes of TFLoffroad, Roman and Tommy Mica put the Ford Bronco Sport through some serious off-road challenges.
Over the years, the YouTube channel has conducted road tests of many Ford models. The all-new Ford Bronco Sport features a unibody architecture and even comes equipped with an all-wheel-drive setup. Considering that Bronco Sport does not have a low-range gearbox, high ground clearance, or even off-road-capable suspension, we have to say that TFLoffroad tortured the new SUV.

The SUV also gets independent suspension on all four corners, and if you’re one of the lucky few who manage to get their hands on a first edition Bronco Sport, then your ride also comes equipped with a twin-clutch rear drive unit, which is a worthy substitute for a rear differential. During its slip test, the SUV managed to dismount the rollers with little effort.
This was achieved by delegating power to the rear wheels after the car could not find traction. The team did point out that Bronco Sport’s 29-inch Falken WildPeak all-terrain tires compromise the ride of the SUV while providing improved off-road performance, and that the car’s long hood impedes the driver’s visibility. All in all, TFLoffroad’s latest video offers some exciting road tests and proves that even this batch-engineered Ford Edge is a capable off-roader.
