As off-road enthusiasts, we don’t mind getting stuck on our escapades down the roads less traveled. Getting out of a tricky situation can be a lot of fun, as long as it does not come at the cost of the vehicle. This is something a Tacoma owner had to learn the hard way. In a video that was posted on the YouTube channel MaxMenezMedia, a Tacoma is seen getting dragged by a Dodge Ram pickup.
According to the video description, the driver lost control of the truck after a brake failure that was caused by severed lines. The truck then went on to roll downhill and was heading towards other people. The owner decided to steer the pickup into the wall to avoid crashing into the bystanders. Predictably, the pickup truck rolled onto its sides and came to a halt, which meant that a recovery vehicle had to be called.
In the video, we see a Dodge Ram coming to Tacoma’s aid. The recovery vehicle attempts to drag the pickup over to a more forgiving part of the Cleghorn off-road trail. This resulted in the Tacoma being dragged on its roof and its sides over a dusty chute. By the looks of it, the retrieval attempt did more damage than good.
The owner of the video claims that the Tacoma was totaled before it was recovered. To unblock the trail, the Tacoma’s owner asked the Dodge Ram driver to tow the truck downhill. Fortunately, everyone involved in the incident was safe and managed to walk away from the accident, but the same cannot be said about the Tacoma.
