The tug-of-war is a classic battle that we have seen go awry many times in all sorts of ways. There are a plethora of horrific videos out there make you feel all sorts of awful for the drivelines of trucks which come in every shape and size. It almost makes you wonder what possesses these guys to continue putting their hard-earned rides through what could be compared to hell for trucks. Don’t get us wrong though, we’ll watch these guys put it on the line all day long!

This particular pull turns out to be extremely catastrophic in epic proportions. Everything starts out normally with both trucks seen in the video above standing their ground. After beginning to pull, though, the wheels of the Ford Ranger lock up and that’s when the fun starts. The Ranger seems to spontaneously combust as flames shoot up from beneath the truck all the way above the cab. 

Something leads us to believe that this isn’t what is supposed to happen.

 Luckily, we see that the driver stumbles out of the way of the fire and the safety crew was on point. This leads us to believe that nobody was harmed in the making of this video, aside from the truck, that is. Via the decals on the truck, we’re also led to think that the fire’s victim is sponsored by a transmission shop. We think that’s completely appropriate; something tells us that he’s going to need a new one in the near future. It should go without saying that we here at Off Road Xtreme would highly advise against trying this at home for the safety of both you and your ride!
