Camping truly is one of life’s great pleasures. Getting away from the rat race and out in the wilderness to explore, hunt, or simply attain some self-reflection is the main attraction. And now, there’s a new star on the rise – the OPUS Camper. In this video, we’re discussing the OP4, a six-person camper that’s capable of more than meets the eye.

Starting from a 2900-pound trailer, the OPUS OP4 affords users a new experience in camping. We spoke with OPUS’s marketing manager, Chelsea Irwin, to find out more. “OPUS Camper is built on the theory of tough luxury,” she said. “It’s designed for low-profile towing across gnarly terrains, and expanding into much larger and functional living spaces.”

The OP4 air tent camper is a six-person camper that brings everything you need for a comfortable getaway.

Expanding is definitely one of the OPUS camper’s charms. As seen in the video above, we see the OP4 inflate and take shape in mere seconds, making it instantly usable and less troublesome than the standard fold-up tent or camping tent you might be used to.

Irwin commented on this unique functionality of OPUS products. “It’s an effortless and brilliant solution to laying down camp,” she said. “Using our AIR OPUS inflation technology, our campers make use of a 12-volt electric pump that inflates the tent in less than 90 seconds. And with the ease of deploying the kitchen, power, and running water, you have a fully operational campsite in just a few minutes.”

With a unique articulating hitch and high-grade suspension, OPUS campers are ready to go anywhere.

The OPUS sounds all well and good on the surface. But how well does it travel over rough terrain? After all, getting towed behind an overlanding SUV or truck will mean experiencing rocks, mud, and more. Thankfully, OPUS took note of this during development and gave its campers the goods to deal with many terrain types. Specifically, a unique suspension system and the Lock N’ Roll articulating hitch.

“We call the OPUS’s suspension the ‘Independent Trailing Arm Coil Suspension with Dual Shock Absorbers,'” explained Irwin. “It allows the OPUS campers to navigate across incredibly challenging and unpredictable terrain with ease. The shock absorbers allow drivers to hit some really harsh trails with large rocks and uneven ground without breaking the trailer in half.”

“As for our Lock’N’Roll hitch, this allows the camper to flex a great deal,” continued Irwin. “The hitch rotates a full 360 degrees so your tow vehicle can literally be angled in ANY direction and your hitch won’t snap. The articulating hitch partnered with the suspension system makes for an incredibly versatile trailer.”

This dependability and durability also translates to the inside of the camper thanks to AIR beam technology. “Each AIR beam is isolated for protection from deflation, and the AIR tubes have three layers to protect against damage,” said Irwin. “During testing, we threw everything but the kitchen sink to ensure these tubes and beams would hold up. We used helicopters to simulate extreme winds, a firetruck water hose for harsh rain, and knives and bats to test puncture resistance. We also rain over the AIR beams with a truck!
