On our way through the SEMA Show, we came across our friends at Pedders Suspension. The company is known for its suspension and brakes, and that can be seen once again in its new kits for the Ford Ranger.

The new star of the product rollout is a leveling kit. In speaking with Daniel Tong, we learned more about the package and what separates it from the competition. “Traditionally, these leveling kits have all been cheap spacer kits or very expensive coilover kits,” he said. “What we wanted to do was create a kit that used a custom, long-travel shock absorber to go with the lift spring.”

Fully assembled out of the box, the Pedders kit makes a solid choice for bolt-on leveling on the Ford Ranger. “Our kit comes with front and rear leveling springs, and with a price point of about $800,” commented Tong. “We’ll also roll out a lift kit soon. That one will be a 3.5-inch front with a 1-inch block in the rear.”

Another Ranger development from Pedders is the big brake kit. “On the factory Ranger, the rotors are 310mm, but ours are 356mm,” explained Tong. “Included in the kit will be a forged, six-piston caliper for increased stopping effectiveness. We tested this kit on an Australian Ranger, and it decreased the stopping distance by 14 percent. It’ll be a good boost in performance, especially for anyone carrying a heavy load or towing.”
