In September of 2018, Casey Currie and Monster Energy published Hammerdown To Havasu, a short film of Casey and his Trophy Jeep taking on Arizona. In the original video, viewers can watch Casey and his rig blast through a ghost town, across the London Bridge, across a golf course, smashing cars in a junkyard and chasing down boats blasting down the river.
To share even more excitement that came with the production of the video, Casey has shared the above video with behind the scenes clips showing some of how it was made and directed as well as some outtakes not seen in the original video.
Through the video we get to have some direct commentary from Casey during the filming. “We got the Trophy Jeep over the London Bridge with the helicopter flying overs us,” shared Casey. “It was a pretty unreal morning.” Through multiple points in the film, video is shot of a cameraman filming and the scene cuts to the video that camera caught giving an interesting point of view.
The amount of planning and logistics that goes into a short film of this nature is staggering. Arrangements need to be made for safety of the driver, crew and the public. In the video, it is clear that Casey and his team worked with the local authorities multiple times to help make sure safety was top priority. Check out the video above to see all the action and then go back to the original to enjoy it again.
