Chances are that at some point in your life, you’ve heard of either Gran Turismo or Forza. They are two of the most popular racing games in the world right now. Other games offer more realistic racing physics, but there is one game that is notorious for its crash physics: BeamNG Drive. It might not have the features of some other games, but if you want to see what will happen to a vehicle when you accidentally slide off a cliff, then this is the perfect game for you. Unsurprisingly, BeamNG Drive has quite a large following and tons of players. So it follows that these players record themselves playing through the game and trying out everything.
This BeamNG Drive video we stumbled across focuses on off-road driving and how well the game can handle off-road physics and crashes. The video features everything including dirt, mud, sand, rocks, and mountains, tested with various vehicles. What’s cool about this game is how accurately suspension systems are modeled, allowing you to try out the articulation on all sorts of vehicles. You also can test what happens when you accidentally drive something off a massive cliff!
As you might expect, tons of cars get destroyed in this game. In some clips, you can see nearly every part of the car get ripped off except for the chassis that holds everything together.
Pretty much everything in the video is a decent demonstration of how crumple zones work. It’s a reminder of how careful we must be while off-roading (at least without a cage), as one small mistake can lead to one giant crash. Check out the full video and see tons of virtual vehicle carnage for yourself!
