In case you didn’t know, Donut Garage is a popular YouTube series hosted by the Hoonigan brand. Typically they guests they invite to the show are race car drivers or automotive celebrities. In the past, they’ve featured BJ Baldwin, Brenthel Industries, and a young Prolite truck driver. This time around the Hoonigans invited Darren Parsons, a 1400 truck racer.

If you didn’t know, Class 1400 are somewhat unlimited as long as they retain the factory steel cab, working doors, and the correct roll cage specs. Most of the trucks racing in the 1400 class have tons of horsepower and tons of suspension travel.

The truck Darren brought uses an I-beam suspension setup with 3.0 King coilovers that allow for 21 inches of suspension travel up front. The rear suspension is a trailing arm setup, like one used in a trophy truck, with 28 inches of travel. According to Darren, the suspension is capable of more travel, but the amount it has is perfect. The engine is a modified LS7 that outputs an insane 680-700 horsepower.

What’s the point of bringing a 1400 class truck to Donut Garage if you’re not going to jump it? At least that’s what the Hoonigans thought, so they pulled out a big metal ramp. The Donut Garage lot is pretty small, so Darren only had 20-30 feet to get up to speed. On the first attempt, the jump went perfectly and Darren’s truck soared gloriously through the air.

Eventually, the Hoonigans wanted to jump their friend’s rat-rod truck, so they did. After figuring out Darren couldn’t physically jump the tallest part of the rat-rod, they settled on jumping the nose of it. Of course, the rat-rod had to be doing a burnout at the same time to make it even cooler.
