Not too long ago Donut Garage featured BJ Baldwin with his 800 horsepower trophy truck. He was the first person to drive off the loading dock at Donut Garage and the internet absolutely loved it. This time around the Hoonigans invited Brenthel Industries to the show and they also brought a desert racing truck.
The truck that Brenthel Industries brought to the show is their 6100 truck which just recently raced Vegas to Reno. In case you’re wondering a 6100 truck is a Spec Trophy Truck. It uses the same suspension and mostly the same chassis as a full Trophy Truck, but with slightly smaller tires and less horsepower. This greatly reduces the cost which allows for more competitors, however, it should be noted that these trucks are still very expensive ($300,000).
The truck they brought just finished Vegas to Reno and hadn’t been touched at all. All the dirt, mud, and broken parts are still there. Jonathan Brenthel mentioned the truck had a cracked water pump and there also appears to be an issue with the rear axle.
Typically on Donut Garage guests will do some burnouts and donuts. BJ Baldwin drove his trophy truck off the loading dock which had never been done before. Right off the bat, the Brenthel brothers couldn’t get the truck to rotate enough because of the possibly broken rear axle.
This caused them to crash into the loading dock, but Trophy Trucks are incredibly tough so they just kept on going. The Brenthel brothers took it a step further by doing a 180 degree turn off the loading dock.
After all the smoke cleared the Brenthel brothers boasted about the 180 off the dock. They even said “BJ Baldwin, did you do a 180 off the dock” which sounds like talk for a possible showdown in the future.
