If you’re the owner of a Jeep Wrangler JK, chances are you like what you drive. If you drive a JK and it has the coveted NSG370 manual transmission, chances are you love what you drive. B&M Racing is about to grow that love even more thanks to a new shifter for the ever-popular platform, which was showcased this year at the SEMA Show.
We had the chance to get an up-close look at this new shifter and go over its features with B&M’s Mark Emerson. Dubbed the Precision Sport, the shifter is first-to-market and has all of the hallmarks of B&M’s quality and attention to detail found in its other products.

The shifter is comprised of 303 stainless steel for the stick, a CNC-machined aluminum base, and a spherical glass-filled nylon pivot ball.
“This is a billet piece short-throw shifter that we think offers a lot more positive feel while driving,” said Emerson. “The shifter will stay in the selected gear without the user having to worry about it popping out.”
This shifter expands on those already offered for TJ and YJ Wranglers, and with its short-throw capability, reduces the effort required to change gears, meaning less worry when getting ready to go through mud or up an incline. And given its year-long development cycle, users can trust that they’re receiving a tried and tested item worthy of adding to their beloved Jeep.
The short-throw ability of the Precision Sport shifter means it can change in and out of gears quickly, making it more reactive to quick decision-making while you're out rockclimbing.
The shifter will be released in December. Look for it from licensed sellers and on B&M’s website, and keep an eye out for more great SEMA coverage right here.
