By now, if you haven’t heard of the Hoonigan Media Machine, you are living under a rock. A very large one that won’t let anything slip under it. Hoonigan is a name that has become synonymous with automotive entertainment. If the recent Gymkhana NINE release wasn’t enough to wet your appetite, you’ve got a new video to chew on. It is time for “Battle BROyale, When Bros become Foes.”
Battle BROyale is set up between two teams, each with three drivers in a Can-Am Maverick X3, to battle it out in the dirt. The blue team is lead by Hoonigan-In-Charge Ken Block. His teammates are Ryan Kibbe and Justin Oquendo. BJ Baldwin heads up the purple team with Chris Forsberg and Dustin Jones. The entire video gives an epic battle feel, with many of the characteristics we see in popular mixed martial arts fights.
Kicking it off, Kibbe and Forsberg duke it out through an urban wasteland setting. Kibbe takes the early lead but then gets overtaken. Jumps, embankments, drift turns around tractor tires ultimately led Forsberg to the win. Race 2 is set up in a desert oasis, where Oquendo and Jones go head to head. The race is packed with lots of jumps, high-speed turns and flying dirt. Oquendo crosses the finish line only moments before Jones.
The final race is the tie breaker. Ken Block versus BJ Baldwin. Two well trained and experienced drivers settle the score in an abandoned golf course. Block takes the lead in the man-made course filled with sand traps, jumps, and berms. The two jockey back and forth throughout the track. BJ Baldwin squeaks past the finish line for the win. Team Baldwin wins.
