Everyone thinks their off the showroom floor “off-road” vehicle is everything and a bag of chips, but they all have room for improvement. Recently, a Jeep Wrangler Sport came to Extreme Terrain to take its appearance and performance up to the next level.
In order to make the Wrangler more aggressive, they installed a Teraflex 2.5-inch lift kit, Teraflex monster front forged adjustable track bar, Teraflex stabilizer and Barricade Trail Force HD front bumper. Ryan Huck explained, “We choose to go with lift kit because of how complete the kit is. The kit comes with new stiffer springs and shocks in all four corners.”
New bump stops are also included to make sure the tires do not damage the fenders or fully compress the springs and shocks. The front bump stop extensions go into the factory location and do not require drilling and tapping.
Installing this specific lift kit you are able to reuse the front factory trackbar, but Extreme Terrain decided to upgrade it. Huck said, “The factory track bar works fine it will just offset the axle and you may experience rubbing on one side or the other at full lock. Leaving the factory one installed you may start to feel a wobble.”
With the suspension taken care of it was time to change up the front appearance of the Jeep. The new steel bumper will allow for easy recovery points on the trail as well as being able to reuse the factory fog lights.
All the modifications done will perform well on and off-road allowing the Jeep to be daily driven while not sacrificing the ride quality. For more information on this build check out Extreme Terrain’s build page.
