A vehicle with a special edition is usually just a name that is given when it is loaded with special features. The Jeep Wrangler Black Bear edition has more than just a name to live up to. The Jeep is named after one of the most infamous trails in the world – Black Bear Pass.
This Jeep features more than just some accessories for the trail, but what happens when you want to take a vehicle like this to the next level and equip it with even more. The folks over at Extreme Terrain recently took a stock, for the most part, 2016 Jeep Black Bear and gave it something it could roar about.
Any off-road vehicle a lift, wheels, and tires are usually standard when if comes to the first modifications done and were included on this build. This Jeep was outfitted with a three-inch Teraflex lift, Mammoth Type 88 wheels, and Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ 35-inch tires.
Ryan Huck explained why they went with these products, “We went with these products to preform on and off-road, and to accomplish it all without breaking the bank. With the added lift we needed to add Rough Country front control arm geometry correction brackets to make sure we kept things like the pinion and caster angles closer to stock.”
A winch creates extra reassurance that you’ll be able to get off the trail safely when driving a daily driven vehicle that sees time on the trail. A recovery tool like a winch is one piece of equipment that can be used to get out of a mud hole, get over rocks, or even help a friend out. Knowing this the team added a Rugged Ridge heavy duty 8,500 lbs winch to the Jeep.
With all the extra off-roading that this Jeep will be seeing and with the larger tires, the team did not want to rip off the factory fenders so they added Rugged Ridge hurricane flat fender flares to obtain extra clearance. Adding larger tires also throws off your speedometer and other readings on the vehicle, so they used a Superchips FlashCal programmer to get everything reading correctly.
A Jeep was made to go off-road, and with everything that Extreme Terrain added to this Black Bear edition JKU the owner of the vehicle will have more fun out where the vehicle was made to shine. What are some modifications that you have done to your Jeep? Tell us in the comments below.
