Energy Suspension has a wealth of products that cover the gamut of automotive enthusiasm, from drag racing to hot rods to off-road. The last of these groups was given attention with a new launch announced at the ongoing 2015 SEMA Show: the Hyper-Flex master kit for Toyota 4Runner.
A well-known and popular platform, the Toyota 4Runner has been in production since 1984 and continues today with its fifth generation, which has been around since 2009. The Hyper-Flex kit made by Energy Suspension fits the “middle child,” the third generation, produced from 1996 to 2002, and is widely considered to be the pinnacle of the SUV’s design thanks to its body-on-frame construction, late model creature comforts, and die-hard 3.4-liter V6.
“Our master kit has everything that the name implies,” explains Energy’s Michael Santa Cruz. “Front and rear sway bar bushings, control arm bushings, bumpstops, body mounts, steering rack bushings, and so on.”

These spare tire bump stops for Jeep Wranglers can be trimmed to allow clearance for several types of tires.
Elsewhere in the booth, new bumpstops were on display. These were made for mounting a spare tire to a Jeep’s tire carrier, and could be trimmed to meet the spatial limitations imposed by varying choices in tire size and width. For rubber hood latches that tend to wear out, Energy Suspension was touting its own polyurethane replacements, too.
Meanwhile, we would be remiss if we failed to mention the awesome Project Sniper, an inspired take on the classic Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 series, on display in the performance tent. Using some of Energy Suspension’s parts, the 4×4 was looking just as perfect as the time we covered it for a feature article in September.
