Eaton is a name every off-roader comes across sooner or later. The search for more traction when out in the wilderness will often lead to this powerhouse company, and its experts have the products and know-how to steer enthusiasts in the right direction every time. Here at the 2015 SEMA Show, Eaton was proud to showcase a badass Jeep Wrangler JK that was equipped with a surprise.
“We’re here with this awesome Jeep that we put Dana 60 and Dana 70 axles in,” says Eaton’s Michael Mulholland. “The Dana 70 is in the rear and features our new Direct Acting E-Locker. It’s a leap forward for our differentials and we think it will be a big hit in the off-road market.”
There is a lot to love with this new locker from Eaton. It boasts a four-pinion gear design and robust locking-unlocking function, with a lightning fast .14-seconds required to engage and disengage. It will also stay locked when traveling in reverse.

The Direct-Acting E-Locker can engage and disengage in a blink of an eye – .14 seconds, to be exact.
Other cool features of the Direct Acting E-Locker include servicability; all of its parts and pieces can be exposed for full inspection and maintenance. For toughness, it has a forged steel case and the company claims to have the “strongest gears available” as well.
Hearing all of these features really made us want to cut a path to the exit and try out the sweet Jeep parked in the Eaton booth. If you feel the same way, or simply want to see what else Eaton has cooking these days, click or call with the provided contact information below.
