It was not that long ago that there was no Netflix, no Youtube, and you had to drive down to the local movie store to pick up the latest movie. If you were an off-roader, on title you may have been checking out regularly was Dust to Glory.
Dust to Glory was a documentary based on the Baja 1000, that was produced by Dana Brown and released in 2005. It followed Mike “Mouse” McCoy, who was trying to ride the Baja 1000 solo on a motorcycle, while hardly touching on the larger Trophy Truck class.
Producer Dana Brown is back at it again. Dust 2 Glory will be filmed from the 2015 Baja 1000 to the 2016 Baja 1000. It will cover the Trophy Truck class and any other team with an interesting story. The announcement of the new film was done at this years Off Road Expo.
Brown mentioned, “The best stories need to be told about you guys (desert racers). It is a hell of an event, and series. I am humbled and proud to be apart of the journey.”
Desert racing and off-roading in general is a fast growing sport. It is appearing in major media spotlights now. The X Games, CBS Sports, and more all show off-roading or off-road racing on a regular basis now. Brown looks to push the sport into everyone’s home.
The new film will be released in 2017 in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of the SCORE Baja 1000. It will be a huge year for desert racing in 2017. Have you seen the first Dust to Glory? Tell us in the comments below!
