With Chevrolet releasing the redesigned 2016 Silverado, it was only a matter of time before the 2016 GMC Sierra was revealed. GMC unveiled the truck in a video compared to the one single picture that Chevy did.

The video shows the redesigned 2016 Sierra 1500 with front end and tailgate upgrades. The Sierra half tons will receive a larger grille as well as an updated look.

The unique thing that GMC did with the video is show all the new trim options that will be available in 2016. The video showed the new Denali, SLT, and the All Terrain trim levels, with each having their own distinct grille. 

Regardless of what model truck, each pickup has a deeper cut into the lower bumper than previous years, along with a larger GMC logo, and harmonized LED projector headlights. The rear taillight designs have a C-shaped LED look to complement the daytime running lights.

The Denali trim continues to lead in the way of luxury with the most chrome and flattest grille surface. The SLT model will continue to be the mid-level GMC trim option for the 2016 Sierra. The All Terrain trim will be the new entry-level option, with color matching bumper and grille.

GMC did not announce any motor options or details in the video taking the stylistic approach. If they follow in Chevy’s footsteps the truck will come with the eight-speed transmission and 5.3L V8. It appears that the V6 and 6.2L V8 engine options will remain unchanged in 2016.
